Coronavirus Hits The Middle-East

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is now threatening 7 Middle-Eastern countries, while China also reported another 150 fatalities.

Any doubts over whether the officially named Sever Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus 2 is a global health emergency have surely disappeared after Bahrain, Israel and Kuwait reported new cases of the virus, while Iran reported more infections and deaths over the weekend as Turkey, Pakistan, Armenia and Afghanistan all closed their borders or introduced strict travel restrictions, according to Al Jazeera.

Italy also reported 152 deaths and infections, with European nations taking emergency measures of their own.

As of Monday, China’s death toll has risen to 2,592 after confirming 150 new coronavirus deaths. South Korean officials also confirmed another 161 cases and two further fatalities, with their total number of infections now standing at 763.

There are 37,198 confirmed cases of coronavirus worldwide.
