Donald Trump sent out a tweet that sent shockwaves around the United States, casting a shadow over the upcoming election in November and threatening the survival of democracy.
On Thursday, President Trump tweeted that he’s considering delaying the upcoming presidential election in November, a race which he is losing, very badly, to Democratic would-be nominee Joe Biden by almost double figures in the RCP national average of polls.
With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???

Trump has already hinted that he could dispute the results, like he did weeks before the 2016 election victory over Hillary Clinton, and his tweet has stirred up a storm among his political opponents, who haven’t hesitated to call him a fascist.
I love the smell of Trump panic in the morning. He wakes up with panic in his eyes. The definition of a guy who is in over his head. What’s remarkable is that he hasn’t learned that he could just ask somebody- hey, is that legal? - before tweeting but he just won’t do it.

You would never be saying this if you thought you’re gonna win. You’re terrified. Panicked. Desperate. We can literally smell your fear…

Fascism. Authoritarianism. The question has always been, could it happen here? Because the answer has been NO does not mean that it will always be so. It is happening here. It is happening right now. Trump crossed the rubicon this morning. For the first time in American 1/

History a President of the United States has talked about stopping a Presidential election. He is probing and testing the reaction to see what he can get away with. We have voted in this country for 244 uninterrupted years through World Wars, Depression, Civil War, 2/

Assasinations and civil unrest. In America, we vote. Voting is our sacred inheritance. It has been secured with the blood of American patriots from the killing fields of Lexington, Yorktown, Gettysburgh and Normandy. It has been expanded with the sacrifice of men like John 3/

Lewis , the courage of Rosa Parks and the martyrdom of Dr. King. Stopping an election ends the American experiment. Trump is losing and he knows it. He is grasping for power like any dime store Mussolini would. The thing is, this is America, not Trumpistan. We will vote. 4/

This morning we received the worst economic news in American History. US GDP collapsed by 33 %. The first wave of evictions and foreclosures will come this fall. It will dwarf the catastrophe of the Great Recession. Trump has wrecked this country and it will take many years 5/

To recover from his lethal stupidity and incompetence. He must not be allowed to wreck American liberty and kill American Democracy. We are the oldest Constitutional Republic in the World. We will Vote. We are Americans.

The writing does appear to be on the wall for Trump, with protests against racism taking over several major cities throughout the country, which has prompted Trump to deploy Federal officers in military gear and unmarked vehicles to arrest protesters. The US also has by far the most COVID-19 cases and deaths in the world, with one person dying every minute now. Furthermore, having spent the majority of his term in office boasting about his prowess with regards to handling the US economy, America has been teetering on the verge of an economic collapse akin to the Great Depression for months. A loss of a third of their GDP output is the biggest economic downturn in history for the country, and Trump has nowhere to hide.
And, ironically, Trump’s remaining supporters are using video footage of what America looks like today to show people about what a “scary place” the United States would be if Biden is in charge.
This would be @JoeBiden’s America.
It’s a very scary place.pic.twitter.com/CokumE7uPG

Calling Trump a fascist is an overused trope that isn’t entirely grounded in reality, which this writer is not a fan of using. But with militia in civilian clothing arresting protesters, with Trump contemplating delays of the elections and with a immovable support base that is prepared to abandon reason in support of a cult-of-personality figure, the blueprint has been created for a genuine fascist state to take over the world’s greatest democracy.
