Donald Trump’s sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, has described her brother as cruel and untrustworthy in a secret recording released by the United States’ president’s niece, Mary Trump.

In the recordings, obtained by The Washington Post, Barry says that “Donald’s out for Donald,” that he’s “cruel” and that “you can’t trust him.” She also said that he’s unprepared.

“His goddamned tweet and lying, oh my God. I’m talking too freely, but you know. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying. Holy shit.” the former federal appellate judge said, according to the recording. “It’s the phoniness of it all. It’s the phoniness and this cruelty. Donald is cruel. You can’t trust him.”

Among other accusations, she says that Trump paid someone to take his SATs and that he lacked any business acumen.

“He went to Fordham for one year [actually two years] and then he got into University of Pennsylvania because he had somebody take the exams.”
“No way!” Mary responded. “He had somebody take his entrance exams?”
Barry replied, “SATs or whatever. . . . That’s what I believe,” before saying, “I even remember the name.” That person was Joe Shapiro,” Barry said.
When asked about his famous business acumen, she responded “I don’t know,” then adding, “Well he has five bankruptcies.”
On her brother’s policies on the Southern border, she also explained how he lacks principles with regards to separating minors from their parents seeking asylum in America.
“What they’re doing with kids at the border… All he wants to do is appeal to his base. He has no principles. None. None. And his base, I mean my God, if you were a religious person, you want to help people. Not do this.”
Trump has yet to release an official response to the accusations, instead releasing a statement about his late brother, Robert, who died on 15 August, and saying that the results of his policies speak for themselves.
“Every day it’s something else, who cares. I miss my brother, and I’ll continue to work hard for the American people. Not everyone agrees, but the results are obvious. Our country will soon be stronger than ever before!”
