If you live in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town and you’re tired of driving all the way to the city to get a good meal and a pleasant atmosphere – we’ve found the answer. Brick Lane Eatery in Century City offers is a surprisingly modern spot, hidden between the canals and expanding office buildings. Even more surprising: They cater to vegans!
142 The Quays
when: Tue-Sun 7:00am – 15:00pm
contact: 021 202 1191 or email@example.com
This cosy and friendly spot offers burgers, salads, sandwiches, pasta, breakfast and tapas, making it perfect for any occasion and any time of day. Pop in for brunch with your mother-in-law, or for a glass of wine with friends. It’s an excellent spot to meet your Tinder match for lunch, or have a meeting over some good coffee. And don’t forget to check out the treats they have inside!
What makes it especially convenient during this pandemic is the ample amount of outdoor seating, which allows you to enjoy your meal while feeling secure in the fact that you’re also social distancing. The staff are friendly, and unlike many places you’ll find in the city the entire restaurant lacks pretence or hauteur – creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
Brick Lane Eatery may seem somewhat out of the way if you don’t work or live in Century City, but if you don’t pop in while you’re in the area you’ll be doing yourself a disservice. It’s far more comfortable than any spot you’d wind in the mall, so it’s worth it to venture out when you go do your shopping in Canal Walk mall. Not to mention, after lunch you can treat yourself to a stroll along the canal – also much nicer than being trapped with all the airborne virus particles circulating around the mall.
You don’t have to travel all the way into the city – often getting stuck in traffic and struggling to find parking along the way – to treat your vegan friends anymore. Take them to Brick Lane Eatery and buy them some tasty treats!
